On Thursday April 4th, 2024 our student researchers, Julia Tripodo and Anvitha Gogineni, presented at the Undergraduate Research Fair about Mindfulness in Motion for Medical Students and our ongoing project, PSAG.
MIM has been shown to be effective for enhancing the well-being of medical students by significantly decreasing their stress and increasing their resiliency.
In regards to our current project, the peri-operative environment has shown to be promising in effectively introducing patients to integrative health strategies.
The American Mindfulness Research Association has a podcast titled “The Mindfulness Podcast with Dr. David Black”. Dr. Klatt was invited to speak on the podcast about Mindfulness.

The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center was recently recognized for their commitment to the well-being of healthcare workers. The center is one of the 72 healthcare systems nationwide that received the “Joy in Medicine” distinction this year. One of the programs cited as promoting the well-being of healthcare workers at Ohio State is our very own Mindfulness in Motion program!
This Autumn, 164 participants are involved in the program (8 internal and 8 external cohorts). The external cohorts include participants from the Athletic Club of Columbus, City of Columbus employees, University of Tasmania, and Ohio firefighters (our newest targeted population).

On Thursday November 2nd, 2023 our student researchers, Rachel Rza and Brianna Michel, presented at the Undergraduate Research Fair about our ongoing project, PSAG.
Studies have shown that pre-operative anxiety can negatively impact post-operative outcomes, potentially extending hospital stays. The Patient Safety Advancement Program (PSAG) is one of Klatt Lab's initiatives aimed at reducing anxiety by providing meditations to pre-operative patients, which can help improve the recovery process!
